Modulightor Building (Elevation) 246 East 58th Street, New York — completed 1993 Paul Rudolph's late-career townhouse and lighting showroom, and one of the few works in which the architect's spatial complexity is fully legible from the street. Behind a steel-and-glass façade of stacked planes and floating balconies, four duplex apartments interlock in section across narrow Manhattan dimensions.
