quam technica studio

quam technica studio is an editorial archive of architectural drawings, hand-inked in Montréal. Each plate begins in the public domain and is patiently re-traced by hand, line by line.

My approach is curatorial as much as graphic. I look for plates that deserve to be seen again: under-circulated buildings, structures undervalued by the canon, drawings whose plastic, aesthetic, or historical qualities reward close looking. The goal is not to reproduce, but to bring buildings back to the page — to let them rise once more from the construction grid, from the hatching, from the calibrated weight of each line.

I am interested in the spirit of Michelangelo's non finiti, the moment of apparition: the building emerging through the trace before the drawing closes around it. Each plate carries that condition — present, but not yet exhausted.
